Lavender Toes
Lavender Toes

Someone dear to Olive is found dead—toes up and barefooted—in Digby’s Bees lavender field. Olive and Lizzy team up with WonderDog to find the killer. Digby’s hives are home to the wondrous Soprano bees. The little buzzers are the source of the secret ingredient that powers their Nonna’s Cold Cream—a fountain of youth in a jar.

Finding the killer turns out to be more of a challenge as the gals protect Digby’s bees from a determined land developer who wants the beekeeper’s farm. The clock ticks as saving the honeybees becomes every bit as important as finding the murderer.

While Olive and Lizzy buzz about, Grams, nonagenarian ace reporter for the Silverfish Gazette, takes on the story of a diamond heist in nearby Sarasota. Can the gals protect Grams from another near catastrophe or can the feisty lady handle it alone?

Help the Cold Cream gals solve the mystery of the Lavender Toes while once again bailing Grams out of trouble. And what about those bees?

An Interview With A Character

What is your full name?

Emily Ann Dingler, but everyone calls me Grams—everyone except my occasional beau.

I’m a ninety-two-year-old fashionista. My passion is retro clothes from the 60s. People say I look like Twiggy. I’ve been fibbing about it for so long, folks think I’m eighty-six.

What is your Profession?

I’m the star reporter for the Silverfish Gazette. I hire out as a bodyguard. My favorite thing is investigating murders in Starfish Cove, Florida. We have more oddball homicides than seashells on our beaches.

What is your current favourite book or movie?

For reading pleasure I’m into the classics like Miss Marple books but I’m a big fan of Wonder Woman movies.

What is your go to comfort book or movie?

I like the early Stephanie Plum books by that Janet woman. They comfort and inspire me.

If someone was to play you in a movie who would it be? OR what would be the character you would want to be in a book?

Funny you should ask. I was thinking about that the other day. She’d have to be wrinkled a lot and shortened a bit, but I think actress Carmen Diaz would be just dandy.

What is your ideal evening?

Playing a marble tournament with my friends. Right now I’m the reigning champ in St. Petersburg, Florida. But it’s getting harder to get down on my knees. I’d finish the evening with an Epsom salt bubble bath and some chamomile tea.

Grams Dingler sends her thanks for your kind invitation. There is nothing she likes better than talking about herself.
Good luck to all who comment.
The pink Save the Bees sweatshirt is warm and cozy.
I hope you enjoy reading Lavender Toes as much as I did writing it. If I giggle while writing it, I know I’ve done well.
    Have a wonderful week.
    With love and laughter,
    Barbara Silkstone
