Okay so this may look a bit like a mangled face flannel! But I promise you it IS the start of the back of a sweater, I seem to have finally got the knack of this and I am now working away at it slowly but surely, if I can do a couple of rows (minimum) a week then hopefully by the next Knit and Natter I will be able to cast of for the sleeves and maybe even start shaping the neck (starts to panic already *grin*).
This is obviously the needlepoint, I hope you can see that I have started working on a medallion, my goal is to get all of this colour finished (so that is the medallions and the pale green further up the pattern) by the end of June, I think that is easily achievable (mind you this coming from someone that did no crafting at all for two weeks due to pain and stress *sigh*).
Finally the cross stitch, this is actually the hardest for two reasons, firstly using the smaller needles hurts my hands …. a lot, and secondly I need space to lay out the pattern and we don't HAVE that at home! and so I can only work on this at the crafty afternoon and I have only been three times this year (due to the aforementioned stress, illness, the only day appointments could happen, and asteroid hitting the earth … well maybe not that last one! but things do seem to have conspired to stop me going.)
So ongoing plans, as stated by the end of June I would like
- To have the knitting at the cast on the arms or even be up to the neck shaping
- To have the pale green finished on the needlepoint
- To have all the outlines finished on the cross stitch so that I can start working on the characters (even better would be to have the boxes AND the writing done – but see how I do).
Right, I have a mug of tea, I need to find my glasses, get the stand in the right place and then STITCH!
