Nothing says Welcome Home like a murder.
It’s official. Fortune Redding is out of the CIA and a newly minted resident of Sinful, Louisiana. She never expected her homecoming to be all apple pie and hugs, but a murder wasn’t on her list of things to deal with before she’d even gotten her name stenciled on her mailbox.
Boone Carre—Hooch, to the locals—was a drunk and a louse and had shafted pretty much everyone he’d ever done business with. So when someone kills him, there is no shortage of suspects. Unfortunately, Ally is at the top of the list.
Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie know that Ally isn’t capable of murdering anyone, but with an ambitious ADA looking to make a name for himself, and the local gossip train intent on finding someone to blame, they know they have to find the killer and clear Ally’s name.
A new chapter for Fortune Redding and she plans to make the most of it!
Fortune is out of the CIA, she is buying Marge's house (where she has been living for 3 months as Sandy Sue Morrow), the first day of her official resident of Sinful happens to coincide with the Fish Rodeo (don't ask – this is Sinful, Louisiana after all!), Fortune doesn't plan on fishing, she will leave that up to Ida Belle and Gertie, she plans to eat a good lunch from Francine's Diner and read a book. All this goes to hell in a handcart when Boone "Hooch" Carre is found poisoned and Ally is in the frame for his murder! Ally will need to spend a night in the Sinful lock-up and Fortune makes sure she is in there with her. The following morning (Fortune having got a lawyer known as The Grim Reaper for Ally), they are leaving the station only to come across Celia and her cronies, at which point her CIA past comes right out in the open.
Now Swamp Team 3 need to get Ally off the hook, the only problems seem to be an annoyed bear and a skunk – so nothing strange there then!
