Following the example of https://the1940sexperiment.com/ I decided to make myself accountable on here, although the last time I tried making myself accountable so people could see I gained weight! For some reason I self sabotage somehow, even when I am doing everything “right” (according to the current ideas on weight loss). So as you can see from above I have lost 78 pounds through various methods since 2023 (actually when I think about that it isn’t too shabby I guess), I do have the additional problems of chronic pain (shattered right ankle, and 20 months ago I broke my LEFT femur) this has left me unable to do conventional exercise and until I get a LOT less hefty I cannot really do the once exercise that could help (namely swimming/water aerobics type of thing).

Still I CAN eat healthily and so my first step is to really cut down/out Ultra Processed Foods – meaning no factory bread and we plan to phase out Quorn ™ mince and pieces, processed food such as cheese will still be on the menu and yes some things like commercially bought pickles etc will stay. As well as this I am going to try and follow the 1940’s diet as much as possible, although this will be a little trickier as my Other Half is diabetic and so too many carbs are not good for him, but increasing the amount of other plant foods (eg cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, etc) will help both of use … I hope!

This will be a Monday post from now on in (with the possible exception of us being away in July), and I am seeing the physiotherapist in a couple of weeks so I hope to get more mobile, or at least as mobile as I can get.
