Murder. Deceit. Mothers.
Tea room owner Maggie O’Flynn has her hands full when her estranged mother unexpectedly blows into Stratford Upon Avondale, bringing a murder along in her wake.
Not only is Maggie busy trying to find who murdered the local woman they discovered in her mother’s elegant hotel room, but she also would like to know why a toy boy is squiring her mother around town. Who is he, and what’s he doing with a woman old enough to be his mother?
As Maggie investigates the murder she uncovers evidence that her charming all-things-English, Shakespeare-themed village may have some unsavory happenings going on just below the surface. Besides cold-blooded murder, that is…
WOW Monica Knightly has hit this one for 6!, our local ex-novice nun turned tea shop owner has a rather unpleasant pleasant surprise when her mother turns up in her Tea Shop (err except she wasn't there as she was smooching her boyfriend in the self help section of his bookshop!), Maggie takes a deep breath, remembers her novice training and arranges somewhere for her mother to stay, the top notch hotel though is somewhat less top notch when Maggie and Katherine O'Flynn open the door to a dead body, now in between missing persons, Maggie's mother acting strangely, Nate (the aforementioned boyfriend/bookshop owner) taking Katherine's side (sort of) and Gina finally seeming to settle down or not, Maggie needs to decide if she is going to stay away from the murder or investigate (shall we just say she doesn't really consider it for long!)
