Class Reunions are Murder

For fortysomething Poppy McAllister, taking a stroll down memory lane in Cape May, New Jersey, isn’t just awkward—it’s deadly.

Newly widowed and stuck in a middle-aged funk, Poppy has been running on cookies, infomercials, and one-sided chats with her cat for months. There’s no way on earth she’s attending her twenty-five-year class reunion—especially after receiving a very bizarre letter from Barbie, the popular cheerleader who taunted her all through high school. At least, not until Poppy’s best friend practically drags her to the event . . .

Using the dreaded homecoming as an excuse to visit her eccentric Aunt Ginny, Poppy vows to leave Cape May with pride and Spanx intact. Too bad Barbie is still the queen of mean at the reunion. And worse, that her dead body is lying right in front of Poppy’s old locker. Singled out as the killer, it’s up to Poppy to confront her past and clear her name. But between protecting her aunt from disaster and tackling a gluten-free diet, can Poppy crack the case before she’s voted “Most Likely to Die” by the murderer?

A brilliant start to a new series! If you were never one of the popular girls at school then this could be worth a read (oh and I really wish the Holistic Doctor was down the street from me!)

Poppy McAllister Browne was widowed 6 months ago, she has spent that time watching cooking shows and infomercials, eating cookies and ice cream and talking to her cat.  Her High School reunion is coming up and she plans on NOT going, until she is given a large dose of guilt by her best friend, mind you this does mean she can catch up with her Aunt Ginny who brought her up.

None of her clothes really fit, she has spots, her hair is a mess and she is dreading it (even more so when she is informed that her ex-fiance will be doing the catering), all of the above fades into insignificance when the Prom Queen/head cheerleader is found dead, and Poppy is in line for chief suspect (especially as the police officer seems rather too keen to pin it on her), now to keep herself out of jail and her Aunt Ginny out of a residential home Poppy, her friend Sawyer and Aunt Ginny need to channel their inner Magnum PI and find out who wanted Barbie dead.
