Running From Arrows
Running From Arrows

Valentine's Day is coming up and Lacy is single. If that's not bad enough, she has a secret admirer. Is it the compassionate, haunted detective, the ruggedly handsome businessman, the suave maître de, the guy in her running group who likes to stare, or maybe someone who's not on her radar? She'll find out soon enough because he's invited her to dinner. Now the question isn't how long Lacy will remain single but how long she'll remain alive.

During the Sweetheart Run through the town of Cedar Mill a fellow runner is murdered and a notorious burglar called the Black Cat is found dead with an arrow sticking out of him. Somehow these strange murders are connected to the ladies of Run For It – Lacy the divorcee, Stax the quirky bookseller, and Ruby the old-time mystery novelist. They're back in a race against time to catch an invisible killer and exonerate an innocent man!

An Interview With A Character

What is your full name?

Lacy B. Purdy. I’m not telling you what the ‘B’ stands for!

What is your Profession?

I run the office for a husband-and-wife insurance team. The Leffertys are the greatest!

What is your current favourite book or movie?

Anything by Catherine McKenzie when I’m in the mood for a thriller. With all the real-life murder happening around me this past year, I haven’t been in the thriller mood, so I’ve read a lot of Sophie Kinsella. But normally thrillers and cozy mysteries are my poison.

What is your go to comfort book or movie?

The Case of the Corpulent Corpse, by Pearl Oakley, of course!

If someone were to play you in a movie who would it be?

Boy, that’s tough. I’m flattering myself by saying this, but maybe Sandra Bullock. But really, my choice would be Jason Momoa, because there’s never a bad reason to watch Jason Momoa!

What is your ideal evening?

Dinner with Stax and Ruby and then maybe an evening on the couch with Meatball, snacks, and an old movie. You can’t be quiet!
