Crooked House

The Leonides are one big happy family living in a sprawling, ramshackle mansion. That is until the head of the household, Aristide, is murdered with a fatal barbiturate injection.

Suspicion naturally falls on the old man’s young widow, fifty years his junior. But the murderer has reckoned without the tenacity of Charles Hayward, fiancé of the late millionaire’s granddaughter.

Charles has just arrived back in England and hopes to meet with his fiancé but when she arrives it is with the knowledge that her Grandfather has been killed and all the family is suspect! Charles knows that Sophia couldn't be guilty and so he goes to the house to see the rest of the family, each has their idiosyncrasies but are they capable of murder? The person that everyone would like it to be is the young widow of Mr Leonides, but why would she kill the man she seemed to really love.

The Crooked House has a crooked crime and it is only at the end of it all that it becomes clear.
