Cute Cairns and crafting 003

First off my knitting, now that Knit and Natter at the White Horse is every Wednesday evening I am cracking on with this! I have started on the sleeves which means I am also reasonably close to the neck, and that was the point I really wanted to reach by the end of the year, so I may hit THAT target a lot quicker than I thought.  The knitting is sort of now my "travel" project as all my stitching is being done on frames and a stand, this also means that when out I am getting more done – which is good! Mind you I really should think about doing the sampler squares and starting the cowl as well … hmm the thing is I really want to get on with the sweater, decisions … decisions!

Secondly the Winnie the Pooh year, I have nearly finished the third gold bear (six bears in total), by the end of this coming week I would ideally like to have at least four of them done (more would be better!) as this would mean I would be well on track for getting this finished this year – which is of course the plan! Until we get a better lampshade I can only really work on this in the mornings, and I have been so shattered there have been some days I have only just got up before lunchtime which is a problem, hopefully this week will be better though.

The third piece is the needlepoint, I have been working with the orange/red yarn which is the  main colour for the medallions and also used in some of the flowers, and it has been the flowers I have been mainly working on, this means that the top of the piece is nearly done in this colour (one more flower and a couple of medallions), then I can get the lower section done and that colour will be finished, I might work on the brown after that or finish the blues off …. hmm more choices!

Finally just because I can a picture of the Cairns, okay a picture of hopeful Cairns as Dr Wytch is holding a treat above their heads and they are waiting for it to drop!
