Okay we are nearly half way trhough 2014 (eep!) and a round up of how I am getting on is needed I think. I am slowly crawling my way through my plans for the year and I am ahead on a couple of points, behind on a couple, but hey I still thinl I will get there in the end!
-
Read 214 books – 83/214 – this one I am behind on, by 5 or 6 books, but I reckon I can catch up easily enough and possibly get ahead during our holiday.
-
Knit 16 squares 10/16 – just ahead on this one, but I reckon I can finish this off sooner rather than later.
-
At least 1 new recipe every 4 weeks – 11/13 no problem at all with this! although I do need to type the last one up still.
-
Use make-up at least once a week – 19/52 this has slipped a bit, we are in week 23 so a bit of catch up needed here (although again the holiday might help this)
-
Finish sweater – this is somewhat on hold, I am not sure if I still like the pattern and I am losing weight, the speed I knit would it be too baggy when completed? (oh please! that would be really nice actually!)
-
Finish tapestry (main background colour) – done!!
-
Finish Map of Durham – the crafty afternoons are helping with this and I hope to get it finished by the start of July.
-
Read all the Terry Pratchetts (Discworld ones) – 23/35 ahead of the game on this, which is good!
-
Use up all the odds and sods of lotions and potions! – 13 down and only 3 to go, and I reckon I can finish these in the next week or so.
So the crafting, as people can tell I have been concentrating on the tapestry and the Map of Durham, mainly as I want them done, but also as it will be nice to have a finish again.
Hopefully it can be seen that the main background colour is finished (there is a bit more of that colour to do, but it is the tiny squares between the outer edges of the medallions and therefore a bit tricky at the moment), the next bit I think will be the dark blue, but I am not sure when I will start that, as I really want to crack on with the knitting.
Hmm not sure how clear this shows up but basically I am very nearly finished with the left half (one tiny building and the compass rose to do)and on the right I have all the tree trunks finished (so just the trees to finish off) and then some buildings and stuff in the sea. If I can get the left finished next Monday that would be grand and then three maybe four weeks to finish it completely! Blimey a year ago I wouldn't have thought I would be saying that!
The decision now is, when the Map is finished, do I start another cross stitch (as I still have some stash left, mainly kits but some charts only), or do I try and get the knitting out of the way? From my point of view either would be good!
